Built in 1922 in the same site where in 1790 it was built a landmark honoring the then Governor of the Captaincy of São Paulo, Bernardo José Maria de Lorena. The Pico Landmark (Monumento do Pico) marks the beginning of the stretch of mountain range of the Lorena Sidewalk (Calçada do Lorena). A belvedere of the mountain range and of the seaside, the main pinnacle stands out due to its pyramidal format, with a peak in the form of an amilar sphere. Originally, it had bronze plates with commemorative inscriptions. |
